Privacy Policy
MyAdvisorsHub helps people find licensed insurance advisors by pincode. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who sees it, and the choices you have. We have written it in plain language and designed it around the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 with its rules.
1. Who we are
MyAdvisorsHub is operated by Sanskriti Management Consultancy (“MyAdvisorsHub”, “we”, “us”). For the purposes of data protection law we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described here. You can reach us at support@myadvisorshub.com.
2. Who this policy covers
Clients: people who search for an advisor or request a consultation. Advisors: insurance advisors who create a profile on MyAdvisorsHub. Visitors: anyone who browses the website.
3. Personal data we collect
Clients: the pincode you enter to search; your email address (verified by OTP), and your name and mobile number where you provide them; the requirement you describe when you request a consultation; and your decision on proposed appointment times.
Advisors: name, photo, email address (verified by OTP), mobile number and pincode; experience, specializations, the insurance companies or categories you represent, and languages spoken; date of birth (only your age is shown publicly) and your address (only your general area is shown publicly); a verification document — a copy of your PAN card — while we verify your IRDAI license or registration internally; and plan, billing and GST details where paid plans apply, including an optional GSTIN.
Collected automatically: device, browser and log information such as IP address, pages visited and timestamps, used for security, fraud prevention and improving the service; and cookies or similar technologies, as described in section 11. Support: messages you send us through email or the chat support widget. We do not ask for more personal data than we need to run the service.
4. How we protect your phone number
Your mobile number is never shown to an advisor until you accept an appointment time that the advisor has proposed. Until then, the advisor sees only the requirement you described, not your contact details. After you accept, your number is shared with that advisor only so you can connect directly. Each access to a client's number is logged.
5. Why we use your data
To create and run your account and verify your email address by OTP; to show you relevant advisors and let advisors respond to your requests; to verify advisors' licenses and identity so every profile can be trusted; to send service messages such as OTPs, appointment updates and account notices; to process payments and issue GST invoices where paid plans apply; to keep the service secure, prevent misuse and fix problems; to respond to your questions and complaints; and to meet legal and regulatory obligations. We do not sell your personal data.
6. Legal basis and consent
We process your personal data with your consent, which you give when you sign up, verify your email address, submit a request or accept an appointment. We may also process data for legitimate uses allowed by law, such as complying with legal obligations or preventing fraud. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see section 9). Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already done, and it may mean we can no longer provide parts of the service.
7. Who we share data with
Advisors: a client's number and details are shared only as described in section 4. Clients: advisor profiles show only the information listed in section 8. Service providers: companies that help us run the service, such as hosting and database providers, email and SMS delivery (including OTP emails), chat support, and payment gateways where paid plans apply. They may process data only on our instructions and for these purposes. Authorities: where required by law, court order or a lawful request, or to protect rights and safety. Business changes: if we merge with or are acquired by another business, your data may transfer to it, subject to this policy. We do not share your data with others for their own advertising.
8. What is shown on an advisor's public profile
Shown: name, photo, experience, specializations, the insurance companies or categories represented, languages spoken, general area or locality, and age. Never shown to clients: PAN, date of birth, full address, house or building details, verification documents, and mobile number (released only as described in section 4).
9. Your rights and choices
Under applicable law you have the right to: ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how it is used; ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data and update it; ask us to erase your data, unless we must keep it by law; withdraw your consent; have your grievance addressed, and nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to do so; and complain to the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied with our response. Advisors can edit most profile details from their dashboard. To use any right, email support@myadvisorshub.com from the email address linked to your account so we can verify it is you.
10. How long we keep data
We keep your data while your account is active and as long as needed for the purposes above. After you close your account or ask us to delete your data, we delete or anonymise it within 90 days, except where we must keep certain records, such as invoices and tax records, or data needed to resolve disputes, for the period the law requires. Your PAN document is stored privately for internal verification only.
11. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the website to work, such as keeping you signed in and protecting against abuse. We do not currently use advertising cookies. You can control cookies in your browser settings, but turning off necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working.
12. Security
We use reasonable security measures to protect your data, including access controls, encrypted connections and private storage for verification documents. No system is completely secure, so please keep your account details safe. If a personal data breach affects you, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
13. Children
MyAdvisorsHub is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
14. Where your data is stored
Your data may be processed on servers operated by our service providers, which may be located in India or other countries. We take steps to ensure your data stays protected wherever it is processed, and we transfer it only as permitted by law.
15. Links to other sites
Our website may link to other sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their policies.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new “Last updated” date and, where a change is significant, notify you by email or on the site.
17. Grievances and contact
If you have a question, complaint or request about your personal data, email support@myadvisorshub.com. We will acknowledge your request and respond within a reasonable time, and in any case within the period required by law.
